Donkey first makes his debut at a “fairytale creature”
sale. They were all being bought by Lord
Farquaad’s knights. An old woman
attempts to sell Donkey at which point a small brawl ensues. Magic pixie dust is accidentally unleashed upon
him from the caged fairy, thus giving him the temporary ability to fly. He flies off saying “You might have seen a housefly, or maybe even a superfly, but I bet you ain't never seen a DONKEY fly!" The spell quickly wears off and he falls to the ground, then is chased into the woods by Farquaad's knights, where he meets Shrek for the first time.
