Donald Duck tutorial

In this video I try to explain how to speak like Donald Duck.  I am very happy and surprised  at how popular it has become.  Thank you for watching.

Peppa Pig

This program is one of my sons favourites, he is 15 months old.  I personally can't sit for more than a few minutes but he is glued from start to finish.  It must be a combination of the kid voice actors, the silly things that they get up to and the noises that the different animals make.  There are always lessons to be learned, often from Peppa herself.  It teaches everything from fun games to words and numbers as well as moral teachings of right and wrong.

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse

My 15 month old son loves this program. If he gets restless while we are preparing dinner or tidying the house we can put Mickey on, instantly he sits quietly. There are teaching points and also fun aspects in this preschool program. There are areas which, purposefully, remain constant gently introducing structure and discipline to the children. Mickey and his friends not only teach general knowledge to the children they also inspire imagination through made up words, scenes and the impossible made possible.

Tweety and Sylvester

Tweety Pie is a fictional yellow Canary in the Warner Bros. Looney Tunes animated cartoons.  The name "Tweety" is actually a play on words, originally meaning "sweetie" and to "tweet", the sound birds make.  He appeared in 49 cartoons in the Golden Age.  Tweety is a male despite the perceptions people may have of him, owing to the long eyelashes and high pitched voice.  His shape relates more closely to that of a baby bird which is because in his early appearances he was.  The yellow feathers were added lated but otherwise he retained his baby-bird shape.  In his early days he was directed as a very aggressive character which was later diluted to a more cutesy bird role.  He does, however, still occasionally expresses his malicious side

Sylvester is a fictional cat in the Looney Tunes cartoons.  He can be found entertaining himself by chasing Tweety Bird, Speedy Gonzales or Hippety Hopper.  The name "Sylvester" is actually derived from the scientific name for wild cat, Felis silvestris which is pretty humerous because he is actually a domestic cat (scientific name - Felis catus).  Sylvester and Tweety were first paired in a 1947 cartoon Tweetie Pie.  He appeared in 103 cartoons in the golden age.  His trademark is his sloppy lisp.

Taz

The Tasmanian Devil, Taz, is one of the Looney Tunes animated cartoon characters, created by Warner Bros. first appearing in 1954.  Taz disappeared for a number of years when Warner Bros. Cartoons closed down in 1964.  Marketing and television appearances propelled this cartoon sensation into a new popularity in the 1990's.  He is the youngest of the Looney Tunes characters.  He is portrayed as a dim-witted omnivore with little patience and a short temper.  He will and does eat anything and everything.  He is most well known for his high speed spinning, the fact that he can bite through anything and his grunty growling speech.

Enchanted

This is a 2007 fantasy romantic comedy musical Disney production. It shows the bitter contrast between the "happily ever after" of fairytales and the truth, which is our reality.  The stars of this film are Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden, Timothy Spall, Idina Menzel, Rachel Covey and Susan Sarandon.  The plot unfolds around Giselle, a Disney Princess, who is literally pushed from her animated world of Andalasia into New York City.  This movie grossed more than $340 million worldwide.

Spongebob Squarepants

Spongebob is broadcast on Nickelodeon and it is an Emmy-award winning animated television series. Much of the series centres on the exploits and adventures of the title character and his friends in the underwater city of Bikini Bottom. Spongebob was originally named Spongeboy but it was discovered during the pilot recording, in 1997, that this name was already being used.

Lighting McQueen

His first appearance was in Cars in 2006. Voice of McQueen is the humorous Owen Wilson. He is the protagonist in the animated Pixar film Cars 1 and 2. He is based on the NASCAR vehicles but with noticeable influences from the venomous Dodge Viper.

Tarzan

"You'll be in my heart" by Phil Collins

This is a great song from an equally amazing film.

This film is both heart breaking and entertaining.  Tarzan is brought up by Kala (who saved his life) in a world where deceit and corruption is nonexistent.  The contrast comes as soon as the humans arrive in the rainforest and it doesn’t take long for Tarzan to be tricked.

Disney Merchandise

There is a very large market for Disney merchandise.  In the year 2010 Disney merchandise earned an estimated $40 billion.  These products come in all shapes and sizes from baby teething rings; to t-shirts for the teens; to ornaments for adults.  The categories these products encompass are endless, so there is always something for everyone.  Disney products are never static they are always changing and expanding with the release of new movies.  Disney products have a rather high mark-up value; but why shouldn't they when they are so popular?

The images above show pictures of ‘Disney stores’ which have been purpose built to house exclusively Disney products.

Despicable me

This is a brilliant cartoon, one of the best I have seen in a long time.  Gru is the despicably disastrous villain who can not catch a break no matter how hard he tries. This film is taken from the villains perspective as opposed to the 'good guy' which is very effective.  This draws in the audience and will play on the heart strings of most.  This is, as I have said, a great film which will keep you captivated from start to finish.  It is both feel good and emotional, perfect for the whole family.

You have got to love that cute little ducky.

My Donald Duck impression.

Daffy Duck

Daffy Duck made his first TV appearance in 1937 in Porky's Duck Hunt.  He is an animated cartoon character, created by Warner Bros.  He is depicted as the best friend and occasional arch-rival of Bugs Bunny.

Princess Fiona

Princess Fiona is voiced by the actress Cameron Diaz.  Fiona is the poor helpless princess who is locked away, "in the highest room of the tallest tower", forced to wait until a brave knight can rescue her from the dragon.  "Sir Shrek" the bravest of all knights prevails when no one else could.

Shrek

Shrek (voiced by Mike Myers) is a big, strong, solitude-loving, intimidating Ogre.  In Shrek’s first scene with Donkey he seemed to loath him.  It appeared all he wanted was to be rid of him; if that was true then he would have been gone.  We get an insight into his troubled Ogre past during the first film, and understand why he resents everyone.  Shrek acts the way people expect him to; not the way he would choose to.  He is a complex character and one who deserves his fairytale ending.

Donkeys new best friend.

Donkey first makes his debut at a “fairytale creature” sale.  They were all being bought by Lord Farquaad’s knights.  An old woman attempts to sell Donkey at which point a small brawl ensues.  Magic pixie dust is accidentally unleashed upon him from the caged fairy, thus giving him the temporary ability to fly.  He flies off saying “You might have seen a housefly, or maybe even a superfly, but I bet you ain't never seen a DONKEY fly!"  The spell quickly wears off and he falls to the ground, then is chased into the woods by Farquaad's knights, where he meets Shrek for the first time.

Bugs Bunny

Bugs Bunny was created in 1938. The corporation responsible for his creation would later be known as Warner Brothers. His primary roles have been in animated cartoons, most notably Looney Tunes. He is somewhat of a trickster. One of his most famous catchphrases is simply "eh... What's up, doc?" followed by a loud crunch.

Donkey

"you've got that whole, I don't care what nobody thinks of me thing. I like that I respect that Shrek, your alright".
Donkey is a class act, however if his personality was portrayed through a real person it would be unbelievably unbearable. This is why I love him!

Donald Duck meets Gollum

This clip does not fully comply with the cartoon character theme but I think it's rather amusing.

Gingerbread man scene

Shrek is a magnificent cartoon character.  This is one of my favourite scenes in the entire movie; you just can't beat that little biscuit.

Minnie Mouse

Minnie Mouse was created Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks.  Both Minnie and Mickey were first drawn in 1928 by Ub Iwerks. In many appearances, Minnie is presented as the girlfriend of Mickey Mouse.  She is also a close friend to Daisy Duck; Donald Duck's wife (or girlfriend); and occasionally a friend to Clarabelle Cow. Minnie's sister, Mandie Mouse was a recurring character early on.  Her main outfit usually includes a polka dot bow, white gloves and a short dress.  Minnie first appeared in Plane Crazy in which she is invited go with Mickey in the first flight of his plane.

Mickey Mouse

Mickey Mouse was created by Walt Disney in 1928 and made His first appearance in Steamboat Willie (following earlier test broadcastings).  His most recognisable features are his face and ears (distinguishable from only a basic outline) and his big white gloves.  He is definitely one of the most recognisable cartoon characters in the world.  He has appeared in over 130 films.  In 1978 Mickey became the first cartoon character to have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  He typically appears alongside his girlfriend Minnie Mouse, his dog Pluto, his friends Donald Duck and Goofy and his nemesis Pete.

Donald Duck

Donald Duck was created by Walt Disney.  He made his first appearance in 1934 on The Wise Little Hen.  He is by far one of the most well known and adored cartoon characters of all time.  His mischievous and irritable personality is what makes him a timeless marvel.  He has also appeared in more films than any other Disney character.
